Cabinet Minute CAB-22-MIN-0010: Additional Item: Update on Planning for Queen's Platinum Jubilee
On 1 February 2022, Cabinet:
1noted the update by the Prime Minister on the planning for marking the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, which will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Queen's reign;
2noted that the celebratory events for the Platinum Jubilee will have a strong 'green' theme with a focus on planting trees sustainably;
3noted that in 2015, New Zealand contributed $1 million to support the Queen's Commonwealth Canopy, a rainforest preservation initiative [CAB-15-MIN-0256];
4noted that to mark the Jubilee, the Prime Minister intends to allocate $1 million to the Trees that Count programme;
