DPMC's latest strategic intentions were published on 1 August 2014.
Since then:
- In February 2015, the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority (CERA), which had been a separate department, became a departmental agency hosted by DPMC, and
- In July 2015 the Government announced that CERA as a departmental agency would be disestablished in mid April 2016 with some functions currently carried out by CERA transitioning to other appropriate Government agencies including the Department of the Prime Minster and Cabinet by this time.
These are significant changes in the nature and scope of DPMC's functions, accordingly DPMC is currently refreshing its strategic intentions. The refreshed strategic intentions for DPMC, which will incorporate the activities and decisions relating to CERA, will be published within the next two months and tabled alongside DPMC's 2014/15 annual report.
Until this refreshed strategic intentions document is finalised, DPMC's existing strategic intentions should be read as including the strategic intentions published by CERA in September 2014, noting that these collective intentions are being refreshed in light of the changes above and that Hon Gerry Brownlee is the Minister for Canterbury Earthquake Recovery.
